Our Commitment
GlobalDex is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.
Conformance Status
GlobalDex conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This means that the content is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and voice control.
Accessibility Features
Keyboard Navigation
Every interactive element is reachable and operable via keyboard. A skip-to-content link lets you bypass navigation on every page.
Screen Reader Support
Semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks, labels, and live regions ensure assistive technologies can interpret all content and state changes.
Focus Visibility
All interactive elements display a visible focus indicator so keyboard users always know where they are on the page.
Reduced Motion
When your system is set to prefer reduced motion, all animations and transitions are disabled automatically.
Color Independence
Progress bars and status indicators include text labels alongside color, so information is never conveyed by color alone.
Heading Hierarchy
Pages follow a logical heading structure (h1 → h2 → h3) so screen reader users can navigate by heading level.
Technical Implementation
The following WCAG 2.1 success criteria have been specifically addressed across the entire application:
- Skip-to-content link on every page (WCAG 2.4.1)
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements (WCAG 2.4.7)
- prefers-reduced-motion support — all animations disabled (WCAG 2.3.3)
- ARIA landmarks with descriptive labels on all navigation regions (WCAG 1.3.1)
- Accessible names on all SVG visualizations and icons (WCAG 1.1.1)
- Status messages announced via aria-live regions (WCAG 4.1.3)
- Dynamic page titles reflecting content (WCAG 2.4.2)
- Proper form labels and input associations (WCAG 3.3.2)
- Logical heading hierarchy throughout all pages (WCAG 1.3.1)
- Decorative content marked with aria-hidden (WCAG 1.1.1)
- Progress bars include role and text quality labels (WCAG 1.4.1)
- Error messages use role=alert for immediate announcement (WCAG 3.3.1)
European Accessibility Act
GlobalDex is designed to meet the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which requires digital products and services to be accessible to people with disabilities. Our WCAG 2.1 AA conformance aligns with the harmonised European standard EN 301 549, which references WCAG 2.1 as its web accessibility benchmark.
